  1. Hi Iestyn

This is a long shot really! I’m wondering if we are related. My grandmother was Elizabeth Roberts and Iestyn is a family name within my family. My uncle was Dr Iestyn Watkin Williams and I came across this blog when I was trying to work out why my great uncle Iestyn Roberts died (at the age of only 14) in 1912. My Roberts family lived in Llanllyfni. My great grandparents were Hugh Griffith Roberts and his wife Ann. They had 6 children (well, 7 but one died in infancy I believe) of which, my grandmother was the eldest b 1893 and Iestyn was born 1898. Iestyn became a name that was used by my grandmother and her siblings when naming sons in memory of the Iestyn then lost when he was 14. Does any of this ring any bells with you?
    kind regards
    Liz Smith
